At the World Cup final in Planica, Stefan Horngacher announced that he will not continue his job as head coach of the Polish ski jumpers, and there's already a successor. The Polish Ski Association announced on Sunday that Michal Dolezal, who was assistant of Stefan Horngacher over the past three years, will take the job of the Austrian.

"This is, without a doubt, the biggest challenge of my career. Ski Jumping is so big in Poland that it's impossible to determine the scale of the tasks ahead", the 41-year-old Czech, who was competing in the Ski Jumping World Cup himself from 1996 to 2004, said in an interview with skijumping.pl.

After the very successful years under head coach Stefan Horngacher, with the overall World Cup title of Kamil Stoch 2017/18 and medals at World Championships and Olympic Games, among which Olympic gold of Kamil Stoch and Dawid Kubacki's gold medal at the World Championships just a few weeks ago, the expectations are high. For Michal Dolezal, this means that there's no time off now, even after such a long and exhausting winter season.

"Next weeks we will have meetings where we discuss the concept for the 2019/2020 season. The athletes will work on their motoric skills, now is not the time for vacation. I want to continue working the way I did in the past three years and I will have many one-on-one conversations with all the team members", said Michal Dolezal, who will follow in big footsteps in his new job with the 2018/19 Nations Cup winners.
