Second win for Maren Lundby on the second day of the Ladies' Ski Jumping World Cup in Oberstdorf (GER). The Norwegian came in 9.4 points ahead of local hero Juliane Seyfarth on the HS 137 Schattenberg-hill on Sunday. Sara Takanashi of Japan finished third, 32.7 points behind Seyfarth.

Overall World Cup leader Maren Lundby of Norway showed her outstanding shape also in the second competition in Oberstdorf. The Olympic champion won the final event before the World Championships in Seefeld (AUT) with jumps of 135 m and 135.5 m (292.4 points. This was her 22nd World Cup win, the ninth this season. "It was a great day, I had some really solid jumps. I am looking forward to Seefeld now and I hope it will be as good there as it was here", said the Norwegian.

With her second place today, Juliane Seyfarth proved once again that she has to be reckoned with this winter. Seyfarth fought for the win in an exciting final round and put a lot of pressure on Lundby with her second jump of 135 m. "It feels great to be on the podium at home. It was great fun to jump on the big hill. It was a perfect day, the hill was absolutely well prepared so big thanks to all those involved. We will now have some training at home and regeneration before Seefeld", said Seyfarth.

Today's competition once again confirmed the top position of the German ladies among the world's best female ski jumpers. Besides Juliane Seyfarth, Katharina Althaus convinced in fourth, Carina Vogt was seventh and Ramona Straub 13th. The Germans are the top favorite for the ladies' team event at the WSC in Seefeld.

Sara Takanashi came in third and was satisfied with the weekend in Oberstdorf: "The jumps I made here in Oberstdorf were the best ones I made this winter, but compared to other girls on the podium I know I still need to work hard to improve. I am happy that I am still on a competitive level with others. We will now stay in Oberstdorf for a few days. I hope I can still improve my shape for the WSC."

The best Slovene today was Nika Kriznar in eighth, one place ahead of her teammate Ursa Bogataj, who was third yesterday.

Eva Pinkelnig was the best Austrian in sixth, Chiara Hoelzl came in 11th. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, who could not compete in Oberstdorf due to pneumonia, started training again and will probably be able to join the Austrian team again for the World Championships.
