Maren Lundby

Norway's Maren Lundby dominated the qualification for the Ladies' World Cup in Lillehammer with 141.5 m and 152.1 points. In cold temperatures and difficult wind conditions, Germany's Katharina Althaus and Slovenia's Nika Kriznar, who both jumped on 131 m, tied for second with 138.8 points.

Olympic champion Maren Lundby posted a fantastic jump on the HS 140 in Lillehammer, that not only earned her a lead of 13.3 points over the second-placed athletes Althaus and Kriznar, but that is also a new hill record for the ladies. After the setback on the Holmenkollen on Sunday, Lundby is definitely back on track and the top favorite for Tuesday's competition.

Eva Pinkelnig of Austria showed a convincing performance in the qualification and came in fourth with 132.5 m (138.5 points). With Chiara Hoelzl and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz in sixth and tenth the Austrians achieved a top team result. Besides Kriznar, two other Slovene were among the best today with Jerneja Brecl (7th) and Ursa Bogataj (13th).
Juliane Seyfarth finished ninth, Svenja Wuerth was 15th and achieved her best result after her long break due to an injury.

Lundby now also took the lead in the overall ranking of the Raw Air with 473.3 points after four of nine jumps. Katharina Althaus (458.2 points) and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (447.7 points) follow in second and third.

The ladies' competition in Lillehammer starts at 8 pm CET.
