Robert Johansson

Robert Johansson claimed his second World Cup win on the Holmenkollen in Oslo. In a breathtaking competition, the 28-year-old team Olympic champion took the win ahead of Austria's Stefan Kraft and Peter Prevc of Slovenia, who was on the podium after a more than one-year drought.

Over 20 000 spectators in the Holmenkollen stadium saw an outstanding competition on Sunday. Local hero Robert Johansson enthused the fans with his impressive performance. "Every ski jumper wants to win on this hill. It really means a lot to me to win here in front of these great fans and my family", explained the obviously impressed winner. With this win, Lillehammer-native Johansson extended his lead in the overall ranking of the Raw Air. He's now more than 30 points ahead of Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi after four of 15 jumps. "I hope that I can remain in the lead of the Raw Air, but of course I know that it will be a tough fight. Now I'm looking forward to the next event in Lillehammer and to jumping there", said Johansson.

Second-placed Stefan Kraft was on the same level as Johansson, but came in 3.7 points behind the winner in the end. "This was a close fight. Robert Johansson deserved this win, he was the best on this hill. Hats off! It is always good to start a Tournament like that and now I'm looking forward to the next hills, I like them all", said Kraft.

Prevc brothers top
Third-placed Slovene Peter Prevc also had a reason to celebrate. He was on the podium today for the first time in more than a year (Zakopane 2018). "I'm totally happy about my first podium in more than a year. My shape got better and better over the past weeks and now I hope that it will continue like that until the final in Planica", said Prevc. The 2015/16 overall World Cup winner could also celebrate the top result of his brother Domen, who finished sixth on the Holmenkollen.

Ryoyu Kobayashi takes overall title
The second "Man of the Day" came in fifth in today's competition. With his result, Ryoyu Kobayashi became the first Japanese overall World Cup winner. He now has a lead of 500 points over Kamil Stoch with only five individual competitions left this season. The Pole cannot catch up with the 22-year-old, who won 11 competitions this season. A great success for Kobayashi and the team of head coach Hideharu Miyahira.

Aschenwald strong again
Austria's Philipp Aschenwald presented himself in a great shape once again. The 23-year-old Tyrolean achieved another top result in fourth. Aschenwald is the discovery of this winter in the Austrian team.

Eisenbichler best German
Best German today was Markus Eisenbichler in tenth, Karl Geiger was 17th and Constantin Schmid 21st.
Roman Koudelka came in seventh, finally a top result for the team of the Czech Republic.

Stephan Leyhe will try to jump in Lillehammer
After his crash on Saturday, Stephan Leyhe wants to jump in Monday's training and qualification in Lillehammer. "I will try it and hope that it works. The crash was a real pity because it was going so well again", explained Leyhe. "If I have the feeling that it makes no sense, I will probably return home and skip the rest of the Raw Air", said the athlete from Willingen.

Second leg in Lillehammer already tomorrow
The Raw Air continues on Monday in Lillehammer (3:15 pm CET training, 5:30 pm CET qualification). The teams will travel from Oslo to Lillehammer per bus this evening. The trip takes about three hours.
