Maren Lundby

Maren Lundby won the first qualification at the Ladies' World Cup in Hinzenbach (AUT). The Olympic champion of Norway showed the by far best jump of the day with 88 m. The second place went to Nika Kriznar of Slovenia, followed by Katharina Althaus.

On the HS 90 hill in Hinzenbach, Lundby could follow up on her strong performances in the past competitions, the 25-year-old won the last three World Cups (Zao and 2 x Rasnov). 18-year-old Slovene Nika Kriznar jumped on 82.5 m and came in second, only the tiny margin of 0.4 points ahead of Germany's Katharina Althaus (82.5 m).
Sara Takanashi was fourth, Carina Vogt (5th) and Juliane Seyfarth (6th) provided a yet another strong result of the German team.

In good weather conditions, local hero Daniela Iraschko-Stolz landed already at 67.5 m and so the 35-year-old was only 49th and surprisingly failed to make the cut for this weekend's first competition on Saturday. Svenja Wuerth of Germany made her comeback after a long break due to an injury and qualified for the competition in 28th.

The first competition in Hinzenbach starts on Saturday at 2:15 pm CET, the second competition is held on Sunday, also at 2:15 pm CET.
