What became apparent during the course of the season, was now confirmed. The Japanese Ski Jumping legend Noriaki Kasai will miss the upcoming 4-Hills-Tournament.

The 47-year-old veteran has been struggling with his shape so far this winter. At the first four stops of the World Cup, Kasai could only qualify for the competition twice and failed to make the cut for the final round of the Top 30 in 45th and 33rd both times.

On the other hand, Taku Takeuchi and Keiichi Sato could prove their good shape with wins in the Continental Cup and so both athletes will get the chance to participate in the 4-Hills-Tournament.

Besides Takeuchi and Sato, defending champion Ryoyu Kobayashi, Daiki Ito, Junshiro Kobayashi, Yukiya Sato and Naoki Nakamura will represent Japan.

This season, Noriaki Kasai would have taken part in the 4-Hills-Tournament for the 28th time. He made his 4-Hills debut in the 1989/90 season and since 1992/93, the crowd favorite has never missed the 4-Hills-Tournament.
