In the mixed team competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, in which a team consisted of a male and a female ski jumper and a male and a female nordic combined skier, the athletes of Austrian took a clear win.

Lea Hirner, Stefan Rettenegger, Julia Muehlbacher, and Marco Woergoetter dominated the competition on the normal hill in Les Tuffes and came in first with their total of 986.4 points. "We knew if everyone brought their performance, we can win a medal", said Marco Woergoetter, for whom this was already the second gold medal after his win in the individual Ski Jumping competition. His teammates Stefan Rettenegger and Lisa Hirner also stood on top of the podium for the second time, they won the Nordic Combined individual competitions.

The silver medal today went to Ayane Miyzaki, Yuto Nishikata, Machiko Kubota, and Sota Kudo of Japan with 938.0 points. "My performance today was not that good and I was nervous because I knew that if I wouldn't jump well it would affect the entire team. But we had good teamwork", said Ayane Miyazaki, who had already won silver in Nordic Combined.

Emma Treand, Marco Heinis, Josephine Pagnier, and Valentin Foubert took the bronze medal for France and surprised even themselves a bit with this success. "We were not expecting a medal so we are very happy, it’s very cool. We fought for it and thought it could still happen", Emma Treand is quoted on lausanne2020.sport.
