Five weeks before the World Cup opener in Wisla (POL). Austrian head coach Andreas Felder has already named his team for the first competitions of the upcoming winter.

A day after the national championships, the Austrian Ski Association announced the six athletes, who will most likely be on the team for the first World Cup events of the 2019/20 season.
Besides the newly crowned Austrian normal hill champion Michael Hayboeck, these are Stefan Kraft, Jan Hoerl, Gregor Schlierenzauer, Daniel Huber and Philipp Aschenwald. Veteran Manuel Fettner and Clemens Aigner will start the season in the Continental Cup.

"After a long and intense summer season, we now named the six athletes who will be competing in the World Cup opener. Of course, a lot can still happen in a month. If an athlete gets out of shape and another one is doing a lot better, then there's still the possibility to reverse this coaches' decision. But it should be okay the way it is now. Most members of the World Cup team will go to Cyprus next week for a training camp because we had an intense program recently. After that there we will have two training camps in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck for the final preparations before the World Cup", Andreas Felder explains the decision.
