The Austrian Ski Jumping championships were held on the hills in Tschagguns and Innsbruck this weekend.
The event started with the individual competitions on the normal hill in Tschagguns on Saturday.

In an extremely exciting and close men's competition, Michael Hayboeck ended up winning the national title. The 28-year-old was already in the lead after the first round with 102.5 m and he defended this top position with 104.5 m in the final round and a total of 273.6 points.
"I'm really very satisfied and I'm happy that I could defend my title today. My jumps and my performance are getting better and better. Due to a back injury, I started jumping training later than originally planned this year. Honestly, I didn't stress myself because of that. Fortunately, my shape is getting better now right on time", Michael Hayboeck said after his win.

Only 0.2 points behind the winner, Jan Hoerl finished second with two jumps of 104.5 m. Gregor Schlierenzauer took the third spot on the podium with 99.5 m and 102.5 m and 270.2 points.
Despite the best performance in the second round, Manuel Fettner missed the podium in fourth with 267.6 points, Stefan Kraft (266.9 points) and Markus Schiffner (263.5 points) followed in fifth and sixth.

Local hero Eva Pinkelnig won the women's competition on her home hill with 96 m and 97.5 m and 224.0 points, ahead of Chiara Hoelzl, who was in the lead after round one with 97 m and came in second with 93.5 m in the final and 218.7 points. Marita Kramer surprisingly finished third with 93 m and 95 m and 215.1 points.

"I'm very grateful that Tschagguns carried out such a great competition. I had two very good jumps today, even though I was a bit hectic at the take-off in the first round. My goal then was to be more confident in the second round I managed to do just that. Now I'm very happy", said Eva Pinkelnig.

Update: The large hill competitions on Sunday in Innsbruck were canceled due to the strong wind.
