Despite an outstanding team performance, the Slovenes couldn't make it to the top of the podium in Saturday's competition of the Continental Cup in Planica. On Sunday, the local heroes could make up for that.

With jumps of 140.5 m and 131 m, Anze Semenic was the best in both rounds and after his second place on the day before he could claim his ninth win in the COC, the first since December 2016, with a total of 263.2 points. "Today all three jumps were on a higher level. I had a really great weekend. The coaching staff will decide where I go next. Anywhere I go, I’m looking forward to competing", said the winner.

Ziga Jelar completed the 1-2 finish for the hosts on Sunday. Like his teammate, the 22-year-old improved his result from Saturday by one place and finished second today with 139.5 m and 132.5 m and 258.2 points. "From the first one yesterday, every jump I made here was getting better. I've managed to improve in from one jump to the next", Jelar said after a successful weekend.

The third spot on the podium went to the best Norwegian of the weekend in the Slovenian Ski Jumping mecca. Anders Haare posted jumps of 140 m and 129.5 m on Sunday and came in third with 245.1 points. "I performed really good in the first round. The second jump was also good but there were small technical things that I could have done better. The Slovenians are too good at Planica, so I’m happy", told the Norwegian.

After his win in the first competition in Planica, Austria's Stefan Huber confirmed his currently very good shape with the fourth place today. Behind him, the best German, Martin Hamann, finished fifth.

20-year-old Anders Ladehaug of Norway achieved the by far best result of his career with the sixth place, his teammate Sander Vossan Erikson moved up from 19th to seventh with a top jump in the second round.

Jurij Tepes of Slovenia was eighth, the Top 10 were completed by Germany's Philipp Raimund and Clemens Aigner of Austria.

Clemens Leitner could defend his lead in the overall ranking on the weekend in Planica. With 637 points he leads ahead of Stefan Huber (532 points) and Taku Takeuchi (506 points).

The next two competitions of the Continental Cup take place in Brotterode (GER) next weekend.
