The final of the men's Continental Cup in summer 2019 is held in Klingenthal (GER) this weekend. In the first competition there on Saturday evening, the winner went to an athlete representing Slovenia.

Domen Prevc showed an impressive performance in the Vogtland-Arena and posted the best jumps in both rounds with 136 m and 131.5 m. In the end he claimed his second win in the COC with a total of 261.8 points. He took his first win almost exactly four years ago, also in Klingenthal. "I'm very satisfied that I could show some very good jumps today, which I couldn't do during this summer season. Now I'm really happy that everything came together at last", the winner told in a first statement.

Klemens Muranka of Poland, who is convincing with constantly good performances this summer, finished second on the HS 140 with 132 m and 129 m and 248.6 points. "My jumps were very good today and it was a very good competition for me. I'm very happy", said Muranka.

Close behind the 25-year-old, Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes came in third. The Canadian, for whom this was his best result in three years, jumped on 135 m and 131 m and scored 248.4 points. He said after the competition: "It's a good day. I wasn't really expecting this. I just flew in from Canada two days ago. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I'm happy."

Yumu Harada of Japan was fourth on Saturday evening, followed by Pius Paschke, who was fifth and the only jumper of the hosting German team who could keep up with the very best today. Behind Poland's Stefan Hula (6th), 19-year-old Finn Niko Kytosaho came in on a career-best seventh place.

Cene Prevc, older brother of today's winner, came from behind the final round and moved up from 17th to eighth. Mikhail Nazarov of Russia was ninth, Jurij Tepes, third after round 1 today, finished tenth and was the third Slovene in the Top 10.

Japanese veteran Noriaki Kasai is also among the competitors in Klingenthal, but the 47-year-old came in only 28th.

Klemens Muranka leads the overall ranking of the COC with 644 points ahead of Rok Justin (599 points) and Pius Paschke (511 points). Because Slovenia's Rok Justin is not competing in Klingenthal but in the FIS Grand Prix in Hinzenbach this weekend, Klemens Muranka has already claimed the overall title before Sunday's final event.

The second competition in Klingenthal starts on Sunday at 10 am CET.
