COC-M: First win this season for Rok Justin

Rok Justin of Slovenia was the best in the first competition of the Continental Cup in Rasnov, Romania, on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old, who has proven his currently very good shape already in Frenstat recently where he finished second twice, took his ninth win in the COC, the first since March 2016, with jumps of 98 m and 88.5 m and a total of 228.0 points.

Just behind the Slovenian, Markus Schiffner of Austria came in second on the HS 97 with 96.5 m and 95 m and 226.2 points and secured his first podium finish this summer.

Stefan Hula of Poland finished third with 91 m and 90 m and 220.2 points in his first appearance in the Continental Cup in almost four years.

The fourth place went to Germany's Moritz Baer, who could not defend his second place after the first round with a jump of only 80.5 m in the final. Filip Sakala of the Czech Republic came in fifth this afternoon.

Norway's Joakim Aune managed to significantly improve his result in the second round today. With the best performance in the final (91.5 m) he moved up from 20th to sixth.

Roman Trofimov was seventh, the Top 10 were completed by Andreas Granerud Buskum of Norway, Austria's Markus Rupitsch and Pius Paschke of Germany.

Klemens Muranka of Poland now leads the overall ranking with 328 points ahead of Rok Justin (299 points) and his teammate Andrzej Stekala (238 points).

The second competition in Rasnov starts on Sunday at 10 am CET (11 am LOC).
