COC-M: Klemens Muranka on top again

With yet another convincing performance, local hero Klemens Muranka could also take the win in the second competition of the Continental Cup in Wisla (POL).

The 24-year-old, who also took the home win on Saturday evening, was the best in both rounds on day 2 on the Adam-Malysz-hill with 131 m and 134 m and secured his tenth win in the Continental Cup with 265.4 points.

Moritz Baer of Germany, in fifth already among the very best in this weekend's first competition, came in second with 127 m and 127.5 m and 252.9 points and achieved his first podium result of this season.

Like yesterday, two athletes of the hosting team also finished in the Top 3 on Sunday. This time, the second one was Pawel Wasek, who jumped on 124 m in the first round and moved up from seventh to third overall with his second jump of 125 m and 242.9 points.

Together with Muranka and Wasek, Aleksander Zniszczol and Andrzej Stekala provided another great team result for Poland with finishing fifth and seventh.

Cestmir Kozisek of the Czech Republic significantly improved his result in the final round. With the second-longest jump of the day of 133.5 m, the 27-year-old moved up from 11th to fourth and missed the podium by only 0.4 points.

Stefan Huber of Austria came in sixth, Roman Trofimov of Russia and the third-placed athlete of Saturday's competition, Philipp Raimund of Germany, tied for eighth. The tenth place went to Norway's Sander Vossan Eriksen.

Japan's Keiichi Sato leads the overall ranking with 230 points ahead of his teammate Naoki Nakamura (225 points) and Klemens Muranka (218 points).

The Continental Cup continues next weekend with two competitions in Frenstat (CZE).
