Klemens Muranka of Poland won the first event of the Continental Cup in Lillehammer. The competition on Saturday evening was decided after only one round due to the difficult wind conditions on the Lysgaardsbakken.

After the wind has already lead to various interruptions of the first round, the final was then canceled after 12 of the 30 jumpers.
And so the longest jump of the day of 135 m was enough for Klemens Muranka to claim his third win this summer, his eleventh in the Continental Cup overall, with a total of 119.1 points. “It was crazy with the strong wind, but it was a very good competition for me. I'm very happy. My plan for tomorrow is to win, to jump well and that’s it", said the Pole.

Philipp Raimund of Germany jumped on 126 m and came in on a career-best second place with 116.8 points. So far the third place in Wisla this August was the best result in the COC for the 19-year-old athlete of the ski club in Oberstdorf.

The third place went to Slovenia's Rok Justin, who finished behind the young German despite his 131 m jump due to slightly better wind conditions.

Four-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann is also using this weekend in Lillehammer to judge his performance in comparison to an international field. The 38-year-old posted a good jump today and came in fourth.

Right behind the Swiss, Christian Ingebrigtsen provided the surprise of the day. The 25-year-old Norwegian scored points in the Continental Cup for the first time ever, and that in fifth. “It went very well, beyond my expectations. I didn’t see this coming. I’ve struggled a bit with the hill in training but it seemed like it worked in today's competition", Ingebrigtsen said at the end of a great day for him.

Clemens Leitner was the best of the Austrians in sixth, the seventh place went to Moritz Baer of Germany. Polish veteran Stefan Hula was eighth, followed by Russia's Roman Trofimov and Norway's Sander Vossan Eriksen.

With today's result, Rok Justin (459 points) was able to defend his overall lead ahead of Klemens Muranka (428 points) and Moritz Baer (303 points).

Sunday's competition in Lillehammer starts at 8:30 am CET.
