COC-M: Maciej Kot double winner in Val di Fiemme

Maciej Kot of Poland repeated his top performance from Saturday also on Sunday in Val di Fiemme (ITA) and claimed the win in both Continental Cups this weekend.

On the HS 104, the 28-year-old Pole showed to constantly strong jumps of 103 m and 104 m and celebrated his second win in a row with his total of 274.3 points. "Again it wasn't easy to win here, Clemens and the other guys are strong. My jumps were not as good as yesterday, but it was enough to have a good competition and get this victory", Maciej Kot said after a very successful weekend.

Not only Maciej Kot, but also Clemens Aigner was able to repeat his top result from yesterday. 100.5 m and 104 m and 273.7 points earned the Austrian another second place today. "The landing was bad in the second round, but in general I am satisfied with this weekend. For me, the most important thing now is to jump well in the World Cup", explained the Tyrolean.

Only 17-year-old Slovene Mark Hafnar from Kranj, who has already proven his talent with various Top 20 results so far, came in third today with 102 m and 100 m and 263.8 points and achieved his by far best result of his young career. "The competition was really good, I had two good jumps and I hope I can continue to show such good performances", said Mark Hafnar.

Moritz Baer of Germany, third on Saturday, moved up from 14th to fourth in the final round, he was followed by the two Austrians Marco Woergoetter and Clemens Leitner in fifth and sixth.

Andreas Granerud Buskum was the best Norwegian in this competition in seventh, the eighth place went to Germany's Luca Roth. Lovro Kos of Slovenia was only 27th after the first round, but with the best jump in the final, the 20-year-old finished ninth today, Martin Hamann of Germany came in tenth.

After he finished fifth on Saturday, Kevin Bickner of the USA was third in this competition, but he was disqualified after the second round because his skis were not compliant to the rules and so he ended up on the 30th place.

The three Austrians Clemens Aigner (871 points), Clemens Leitner (785 points) and Stefan Huber (532 points) remain on top of the overall ranking of the Continental Cup also after this weekend.

The next two competitions will be held in Rena (NOR) next weekend.
