Like on the day before, his teammate Joakim Aune did a lot better in the second round. After 94 m in round 1, he posted the longest jump of the day with 98.5 m in the final and moved up from 13th after the first half of the competition to third overall.

Only 0.1 points behind Joakim Aune, Markus Schiffner of Austria came in second, closely followed by Russia's Roman Trofimov (5th) and Stefan Hula of Poland (6th). The two best German jumpers in this competition were Moritz Baer and Pius Paschke, who was third after the first round, in seventh and eighth.
