COC-M: Rok Justin wins in Brotterode

Rok Justin of Slovenia was the best ski jumper in the first men's Continental Cup competition in Brotterode (GER) on Saturday evening.

The 26-year-old laid the foundation for his eleventh win in the COC with the best jump in the first round of 115 m. The Slovene could then defend his narrow lead with a 110.5 m jump in the final round and 257.1 points. This performance earned him the first top spot on the podium this winter.

Ulrich Wohlgenannt of Austria, fifth after the first half of the competition with 110 m, secured the second place and his first podium this season with a 113 m jump in the second round and a total of 255.0 points.

The third place went to Norway's Andreas Granerud Buskum, who jumped on 110.5 m and 114 m and scored 252.6 points. With the strong second jump, he could move up from seven to three and achieve his best result this winter.

Cene Prevc of Slovenia moved up from 15th to fourth in the second round and missed the podium only by the narrow margin of 0.4 points. Behind the two Austrians Clemens Aigner and Markus Schiffner in fifth and sixth, Moritz Baer was the best athlete of the hosting German team in seventh.

Anders Ladehauf of Norway was eighth, with Martin Hamann (9th) and Clemens Leitner (10th) two more athletes of Germany and Austria finished in the Top 10 on the Inselberg-hill today.

Clemens Leitner leads the overall ranking of the Continental Cup with his 663 points, followed by Stefan Huber (532 points) and Taku Takeuchi (506 points).

The second competition in Brotterode starts on Sunday at 12:15 pm CET.
