COC-M: Victory for Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng in Brotterode

Despite the storm warning over Germany, also the second men's competition at the Continental Cup in Brotterode (GER) could take place on Sunday afternoon, even if the wind conditions were not always easy on the Inselberg-hill.

In the end, Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng came out on top today. The 24-year-old Norwegian posted two consistently strong jumps of 115.5 m and 113.5 m and claimed his third win in the Continental Cup, the first since September 2016, with 242.8 points.

The remaining two spots on the podium went to Polish ski jumpers. Pawel Wasek finished second with 117 m and 111.5 m and 237.9 points, he was followed by his fellow countryman Stefan Hula in third with two jumps of 115.5 m and 235.4 points.

Cene Prevc of Slovenia moved up from tenth to fourth in the second round and repeated his result from the first day of competition in Brotterode. His teammate Rok Justin, who won the event on Saturday, finished right behind him in fifth.

Luca Roth was the best German in sixth, behind the third Slovene in the Top 10 today, Jaka Hvala, Clemens Leitner was the best of the Austrians in eighth. After his third place yesterday, Andreas Granerud Buskum came in ninth today.

Martin Hamann of Germany had the best jump in the second round with 115 m and managed to move up from 26th to tenth overall.

Clemens Leitner leads the overall ranking of the COC with 695 points ahead of his teammates Stefan Huber (532 points) and Clemens Aigner (511 points).

The Continental Cup continues next weekend with two competitions in Iron Mountain (USA).
