COC-W: Next win for Gyda Westvold Hansen

After her win in the first competition of the Continental Cup in Schuchinsk (KAZ); Gyda Westvold Hansen also finished on top there on Sunday.

With jumps of 98.5 m and 96 m, the 17-year-old was clearly the best in both rounds on the HS 99 and with her total of 238.4 points, the second victory of the Norwegian in her second COC competition was never in doubt.

Kristina Prokopieva posted a jump of 84.5 m in the first round and managed to move up from sixth to second with a final jump of 93 m and 202.1 points. Local hero Valentina Sderzhikova repeated her third place from the day before with 90.5 m and 86.5 m and 200.8 points.

Right behind her, Veronika Shishkina, another athlete from Kazakhstan, finished fourth. Besides Prokopieva, her teammates Alina Borodina, Aleksandra Barantceva, and Irma Machinya completed the top result for the Russians in fifth, sixth and eighth.

Karoline Roestad of Norway, Austria's Julia Huber and Kaede Narita of Japan were seventh, ninth and tenth and came in on the exact same places as in Saturday's competition.

Gyda Westvold Hansen now leads the overall ranking with the maximum of 200 points. Veronika Shishkina (130 points) and Kristina Prokopieva (125 points) follow in second and third.

The women's Continental Cup continues on August 8th and 9th with two competitions in Szczyrk (POL).
