The German Pauline Hessler won the first of two women's Continental Cups in Brotterode (GER) on Saturday afternoon ahead of Russian Ksenia Kablukova and Jerneja Repinc Zupancic from Slovenia.

The 21-year-old was already leading the first round with 107.5 m and then confirmed with 101.5 m in the final round, scoring 220.9 points. She was happy as this victory is the second of her career in the COC. Good to note that she won for her first time also February 2019 and also in Brotterode.

Second place went to Ksenia Kablukova from Russia with 100 m and 103.5 m scoring 217.3 points. Jerneja Repinc Zupancic from Slovenia, who is only 17 years old, finished third with 101.5 m and 105.5 m and 210.4 points. She stood on the podium for her first time, her best result so far was 19th place in Planica at the end of January.

The young German Pia Lilian Kübler achieved by far the longest jump of the day with 116 m in the first run, but she crashed after landing. She remained uninjured and so she was able to compete again in the final and despite this fall she still reached fourth rank.

Michelle Göbel and Anna Jäkle finished fifth and seventh and thus, together with Pauline Hessler and Pia Lilian Kübler, ensured a strong team result for the German jumpers.

The sixth place went to Vanessa Moharitsch from Austria, eighth was Astrid Norstedt from Sweden, followed by Eirin Maria Kvandal from Norway (9th) and Lara Logar from Slovenia (10th).

Before the last jumping of the season on Sunday (10:00 am) Sophie Sorschag leads the Continental Cup overall standings with 320 points ahead of Ksenia Kablukova (285 points) and Pauline Hessler (205 points).
