Eva Pinkelnig and Marita Kramer secured a 1-2 finish for the Austrian team in the first women's Continental Cup competition this weekend in Stams (AUT).

Eva Pinkelnig took her first-ever win in the Continental Cup on the HS 115 on Saturday with jumps of 109.5 m and 107.5 m and 253.5 points. "I'm extremely satisfied with my new equipment. This is the perfect start of the season", said the winner.

Marita Kramer, who already stood on top of the podium this summer twice in Szczyrk, came in second behind her teammate with 104.5 m and 108 m and a total of 249.7 points. "The conditions were great. I already had very good jumps in training and that gave me self-confidence. The preparations for the World Cup in winter are going really well", Kramer told.

After the first round, Slovenia's Ursa Bogataj was in the lead with her 108 m jump, 102.5 m in the final and 245.2 points were then enough for the 24-year-old to finish third.
Together with Bogataj, Ema Klinec, Spela Rogelj, Katra Komar and Maja Vtic provided an outstanding team result of Slovenia on day 1 in Stams with their places four, six, eight and nine.

In between the Slovenians, Josephine Pagnier of France and Italy's Lara Malsiner finished fifth and seventh. Pagnier's teammate Oceane Avocat Gros completed the Top 10.

With her second place today, Marita Kramer now took the lead in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup with 280 points. She is followed by Gyda Westvold Hansen (222 points) and Karolina Indrackova (172 points) in second and third.
Because Gyda Westvold Hansen is not competing in Stams, Marita Kramer has already claimed the overall title of the COC before the final competition of the summer on Sunday.

The second women's competition in Stams starts on Sunday at 9:45 am CET.
