Austrian Chiara Hoelzl won the two competitions of the FIS Women's World Cup in Oberstdorf (GER) this weekend. As per yesterday, she won ahead of Maren Lundby from Norway. Another teammate, Marita Kramer was also on the podium.

Both leaders performed very well today with an intense competition in the big hill of Audi Arena. With just 2.3 points ahead of Maren with two jumps reaching 127.5 m and 129 m, Chiara Hoelzl took again the yellow bib in the overall World Cup. For her, it was a very close competition and the conditions were rather good, as she definitely prefers rain than snow.

Having problems with her starting position, Maren Lundby made a first jump at only 122.5 m. The second jump was better, "her best this weekend but unfortunately it was the last one" she said, scoring a total of 285.3 points and loosing herewith her yellow bib.

With the longest jump with 137 m in the second run, Austrian Marita Kramer took the third position.

Sara Takanashi who was 16th at the first event yesterday improved her jumps and finished fourth.

Finishing third after the first run, it was possible for Juliane Seyfarth to be on the podium in front of her home public. She was indeed best German but finished eventually in fifth position. Katharina Althaus, her team mate and ambassador for next year’s Nordic World Ski Championships 2021, ended in 19th position, unfortunately not as good as expected on her home hill.

In a very good shape and surprised herself, Kinga Rajda from Poland posted two good jumps and completed a strong sixth position, her best individual result so far being the 21st position in Sapporo, Japan last month.

Japanese was really present today in top 10 with Yuki Ito (seventh) and Nozomi Maruyama (ninth) having between both of them Austrian Daniela Iraschko-Stolz.

Slovenian Opseth Silje tied up with French Julia Clair in 10th position collecting equally 243,40 points. For the 25-year-old from the Vosges mountains, it was her best result for four years.

Third in the overall World Cup, Eva Pinkelnig from Austria fell to 131 m in the first run after landing. One of her ski was broken but she remained uninjured and competed in the final run to end in 13th place.

After this weekend in Germany, Chiara Hoelzl took the yellow bib back and is now leading the overall ranking of the World Cup with 830 points, 15 points ahead of Maren Lundby. Team mate Eva Pinkelnig follows on third with 719 points.
