Eva Pinkelnig from Austria celebrated her second World Cup victory within 5 days in Zao (JPN). Pinkelnig clearly won on Friday with jumps of 97.5 and 95.5 meters (232.3 points) ahead of local hero Sara Takanashi (92.5 and 91.5 meters / 215 points) and Chiara Hoelzl (AUT / 90.5 and 92.5 meters / 212.6 points).

For Eva Pinkelnig it was the second World Cup success of her career, the 31-year-old achieved her first victory last weekend in Sapporo (JPN).

With Chiara Hoelzl and Marita Kramer in third and fourth place, the ski jumpers from Austria demonstrated their current dominance once again.
Pinkelnig's success is already the fourth victory for Austria's ski jumping women in a row. Chiara Hoelzl had won in Klingenthal, in Sapporo the victories of Marita Kramer and the premiere victory of Eva Pinkelnig followed.

Sara Takanashi achieved her best result so far this winter with the second place. The shape curve of the record World Cup winner (56 World Cup victories) is pointing upwards.

The leader of the overall World Cup, Maren Lundby from Norway defended her lead in the overall World Cup, but had problems with the HS 102 meter ski jump of Zao, like the day before.
In the end, Lundby was satisfied with fifth place, especially the second jump of the Norwegian was good so that Lundby can hope for a better result in the second individual competition on Sunday. On Saturday there will first be a team competition.

The two Slovenian athletes Nika Kriznar and Ema Klinec finished 6th and 7th. Both were ahead of the best German athlete Katharina Althaus, who collected points in 8th place.
The favorites for the team jumping on Saturday have been determined with the Austrians. It would be a big surprise if the jumpers of ÖSV head coach Harry Rodlauer would not win the team jumping on Saturday. The dominance of the ladies around Eva Pinkelnig and Chiara Hölzl is too strong this winter, with Marita Kramer and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz there are a total of four potential victorious female jumpers in the ÖSV team.

The second jumping competition in Zao, the team competition starts on Saturday at 9:00 am.
