Finnish Ski Jumping teams announced
May 03, 2019·Ski JumpingThe Finnish Ski Association published it's Ski Jumping teams for the 2019/20 season on Friday.
With Antti Aalto, who gained attention with various very good results this past winter and was the best Finn in the overall World Cup in 25th place, Andreas Alamommo, Jarkko Maatta and Eetu Nousiainen, four athletes were named to the national team of head coach Lauri Hakola, who will be supported by Frenchman Frederic Zoz.
The second group, challengers and junior national team, consists of Kalle Heikkinen, Niko Kytosaho, Henri Kavilo, Juho Ojala, Jenny Rauionaho and Susanna Forsstroem as well as the juniors Mico Ahonen, Arttu Pohjola, Jonne Vetelainen and Julia Tervahartiala. These jumpers will be coached by Kai Kovaljeff and the ladies' coach Ossi-Pekka Valta.
Julia Kykkaenen is not part of the national team and will prepare herself for the upcoming season separately again.
All of these athletes shall mainly train together in order to work as effective and cost-saving as possible and to also promote internal competition. The main training centers will be located in Kuopio and Lahti.
