Juliane Seyfarth

Juliane Seyfarth won the qualification for the FIS Grand Prix in Frenstat (CZE) with a jump of 92.5 m and 114.8 points, just ahead of Josephine Pagnier of France (114.6 points) and Nika Kriznar of Slovenia (111.8 points).

In this summer's final qualification, Seyfarth had a lead of only 0.2 points over Pagnier, who is getting better and better.

The best Slovenes, Nika Kriznar and Spela Rogelj, came in third and fourth, Katra Komar and Ursa Bogataj completed the outstanding team result for Slovenia in sixth and eighth. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was the best Austrian in fifth, Daniela Haralambie of Romania finished on a strong ninth place.

The final event of the FIS Women's Grand Prix 2019 will take place in Frenstat on Sunday. Japan's Sara Takanashi has already claimed the overall title even though she is not competing this weekend.

Takanashi won the first two competitions this summer in Hinterzarten and Courchevel and leads the overall ranking with 200 points. Only Norway's Maren Lundby (120 points) would have been able to prevent Takanashi's overall win, but Lundby had a spectacular crash in training in Lillehammer recently and can therefore not take part in the Grand Prix final in Frenstat.

Nika Kriznar of Slovenia is third in the overall ranking with 100 points and could also end the series with 200 points if she wins on Sunday, but Takanashi would still remain the overall winner because she achieved more individual victories. The same applies to Ursa Bogataj, who is also third with 100 points.

Sunday's competition starts at 10:30 am CET.
