Three-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch of Poland won the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lillehammer (NOR) on Tuesday. In continuous rain and temperatures above zero, Stoch came in ahead of the two Slovenes Ziga Jelar and Timi Zajc.

Similar to yesterday, the conditions on the Lysgardsbakken in Lillehammer were unpleasant and Kamil Stoch was the one who was least impressed by that. Stoch posted jumps of 131.5 m and 139.5 m and came in 5.3 points ahead of Ziga Jelar.

"My jumps were very good today, I'm very satisfied with today's competition, even if it was not easy in these conditions", explained Stoch, who also took the overall lead in the RAW AIR overall ranking with his win today. "I'm not thinking about the overall ranking at all, I just focus on my jumps and that they are good", Stoch added.

Slovenia's Ziga Jelar is the surprise of this RAW AIR and finished second today. "I have been working on my technique and made some adjustments, this pays off now. My jumps are very stable. Now I'm looking forward to the competitions in Trondheim and Vikersund, I've never jumped on these hills. My favorite is definitely the hill in Vikersund, because Ski Flying is the best", said Jelar, who is currently third in the overall ranking of the RAW AIR.

With Timi Zajc, another Slovene finished third, Peter Prevc, who won yesterday, completed the outstanding result of the Slovenian team in fifth. Best Japanese was Ryoyu Kobayashi in fourth, Philipp Aschenwald and Evgeniy Klimov came in sixth and seventh and were the best athletes of the teams of Austria and Russia.

Besides today's winner, Kamil Stoch, Stephan Leyhe of Germany was the "Man of the Day". Leyhe won the qualification before the competition and was leading the RAW AIR overall after that. In the competition, Leyhe finished ninth and is now second overall, only the tiny margin of 0.7 points behind Stoch.

The battle for the overall World Cup title took place a little further down the result list of today's competition. Stefan Kraft was 17th, Karl Geiger was not able to seize this opportunity and came in two places behind Kraft in 19th. Kraft has now scored 1659 points, Geiger has 1519 points with only two more individual competitions to go. Stefan Kraft now holds all the aces and it would have to go really bad for him if he would not win the 2019/20 overall World Cup title.

The RAW AIR continues tomorrow in Trondheim (NOR) with the next qualification. The athletes will travel from Lillehammer to Trondheim by train tonight. The qualification starts at 5:30 pm CET (Training at 3:30 pm CET).
