Karl Geiger and Juliane Seyfarth took clear wins in the German Ski Jumping nationals in Klingenthal on Saturday evening.

Karl Geiger laid the foundation for his success already in the first round with the longest jump of the day of 144 m. The 26-year-old Oberstdorf-native then claimed the national title with 137.5 m in the final and a total of 314.2 points.

Despite Karl Geiger's great first jump, Markus Eisenbichler was in the lead after the first half of the competition. The reigning large hill World Champion, who was voted "Skier of the Year" by the athletes of the German Ski Association just recently, started two gates lower and jumped on 137 m. In the final, Eisenbichler posted a jump of 129 m and he finished second overall with 299.2 points.
The third place went to Richard Freitag with 130 m and 132 m and 283.2 points.

Clearly behind the Top 3 of the day, Stephan Leyhe (268.1 points), Constantin Schmid (266.2 points) and Moritz Baer (265.5 points) finished fourth, fifth and sixth.
