Killian Peier successfully defended his title at the Swiss national championships in Chaux-Neuve (FRA) on Saturday.

The 24-year-old dominated the competition on the HS 118 normal hill with jumps of 111 m and 112.5 m and took a clear win with 247.2 points. "It went quite well, the changing wind conditions calmed down for the competition and so it was fair. I'm very satisfied that I could defend the title. I felt some pressure because this is almost a home event for me, I've trained here a lot and my whole family and even some friends came to watch", said the bronze medalist of the World Championships in Innsbruck last winter.

Simon Ammann posted jumps of 107 m and 109.5 m and came in second clearly behind the winner with 227.6 points. The third place went to Gregor Deschwanden with 107 m and 115 m and 224.2 points.

Gabriel Karlen, Sandro Hauswirth, who won the junior's title, and Dominik Peter followed in fourth, fifth and sixth.

The women's competition on the HS 64 was won by Emely Torazza with 55 m and 55.5 m (214.4 points), ahead of Rea Kindlimann (56 m and 56 m; 208.0 points) and Sina Arnet (54.5 m and 51.5 m; 205.6 points).
