More than three years after his crash during a Ski Flying event at the Kulm-hill, Lukas Mueller keeps making great progress in the rehabilitation thanks to his huge fighting spirit.

The 27-year-old Austrian was a fore jumper on the Kulm in Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) in January 2016 and fractured two cervical vertebrae. The devastating diagnosis of the doctors back then: incomplete quadriplegia.

Already shortly after the surgery, the 2009 junior world champion impressed with his positive attitude and his strong will to work hard on being able to live without a wheelchair again one day. Now Lukas Mueller reached yet another milestone in this long way. On Wednesday he posted a video on social media that showed him walking a few steps without help.

"This is the incredible result when there are people who believe even more in you than yourself. 18 months of hardest work, tears, success, so much madness, some surprises and even a kind of special friendship", he wrote as a comment to the video, directed at his physical therapist.
