Manuel Fettner has decided to end this winter season early, but the Austrian is currently not thinking about retirement.

"This season didn't go as I had expected so far. I was sidelined due to a stomach at the wrong time. Since then I have not been able to meet the physical prerequisites again in order to show my best performance. Now I'll focus mainly on physical training and finish my studies at the university. Hopefully, I'll then be able to start the preparation for the next season soon and with lots of energy", the 34-year-old is quoted in a release of the Austrian Ski Association.

This winter, Manuel Fettner was mainly competing in the Continental Cup, where the seventh and 12th place in Vikersund (NOR) were his best results. Most recently, he was part of the national quota at the two Austrian legs of the 4-Hills-Tournament. There he was 51st in Innsbruck and narrowly failed to qualify, in Bischofshofen, the 2013 Team World Champion finished 41st.
