Local hero Maren Lundby had a perfect start in the RAW AIR 2020 on Saturday evening. The Olympic Champion posted the longest jump of the day in the RAW AIR opening competition, the first competition round of this year's RAW AIR, on the Holmenkollen in Oslo with 133 m. The two Austrians Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Chiara Hoelzl followed in second and third.

As already for the men's team competition, the spectator stands were empty again also during this round because the local health authorities closed the Holmenkollen to the public for the entire weekend.

Maren Lundby was not impressed at all by this unusual atmosphere. Today's outstanding jump earned Lundby a lead of 12.1 points over second-placed Jacqueline Seifriedsberger already after the first round of the RAW AIR. This is a real statement. Overall World Cup leader and co-favorite Chiara Hoelzl is already 16.1 points behind Lundby. "This jump today was very good, the result is great, but it still won't be a walk in the park. I think that it will be a tough fight for the overall title of the RAW AIR this year", Maren Lundby explained after her perfect start.

Katharina Althaus was the best of the Germans in fourth, she was followed by Sara Takanashi of Japan in fifth.
Silje Opseth was sixth and is already 21.3 points behind Lundby. Eva Pinkelnig of Austria, another one of the favorites came in tenth, almost 30 points behind Maren Lundby.

The first World Cup competition during this RAW AIR will start on Sunday at 5:15 pm CET, after that the women and men move on to Lillehammer and Trondheim.
