National titles in Poland to Piotr Zyla and Kinga Rajda
Oct 13, 2019·Ski JumpingPiotr Zyla crowned himself the Polish Ski Jumping champion on the normal hill on Saturday evening in Szczyrk.
With jumps of 100 m and 111 m he scored a total of 266.4 points and took the win despite a fall in the second round. "The second jump was really good and I enjoyed it. After the landing, I didn't expect that it would be enough for the victory because I didn't stand the jump. Now I'm very happy that I was still able to win", the new champion is quoted on the website of the Polish Ski Association.
Kamil Stoch came in second with his jumps of 97.5 m and 101 m and 263.9 points, followed by Stefan Hula in third. He jumped on 95.5 m and 107 m and scored 262.7 points.
The overall winner of the FIS Grand Prix 2019, Dawid Kubacki, finished fourth in this competition, Maciej Kot was fifth and the sixth place went to Andrzej Stekala.
Mateusz Gruszka, Krzysztof Leja, Andrzej Stekala and Maciej Kot claimed the win in the team event for AZS Zakopane I with 499.8 points, followed by Wislanskie Stowarzyszenie Sportowe II (Artur Kukula, Bartosz Czyz, Szymon Jojko, Tomasz Pilch) with 476.2 points and TS Wisla Zakopane I (Klemens Muranka, Dawid Jarzabek, Adam Niznik, Dawid Kubacki; 462.4 points).
Kinga Rajda won the women's title with 91 m and 93.5 m and 211.0 points, ahead of Joanna Szwab (88 m and 93 m; 198.5 points) and Nicole Konderla (88.5 m and 91.5 m; 196.5 points).
