As the Norwegian Ski Association announced on Wednesday, Andreas Vilberg, who was one of the assistants of head coach Alexander Stoeckl recently, will be the new head coach of the Ski Jumping team of the Norwegian elite sports foundation (Toppidrettssatsingen).

A total of 15 athletes, Joakim Aune, Mats Bjerke Myhren, Andreas Varsi Breivik, Andreas Buskum, Jesper Oedegaard, Eirik Fystro, Rishi Sæther, Fredrik Villumstad, Joacim Bjoereng, Oscar Westerheim, Sondre Ringen, Sander Vossan Eriksen, Christian Roeste Solberg, Richard Haukedal and Anders Haare, were named to this team for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

Besides some jumpers with World Cup experience, Andreas Vilberg will also work with some new faces on his team. "These are interesting athletes, who have achieved good results and shown great potential. They will reinforce their training groups and contribute to a higher level in their day-to-day work. It is always exciting to work with new, young athletes and we hope that they will further push the already established jumpers on the team", Vilberg is quoted on the website of the Norwegian Ski Association.

"We want to further develop the ski jumpers, so they will be as well prepared as possible for the next step in their careers. Of course, we also hope that some of them will earn their spot on the World Cup team", said Andreas Vilberg, whose place in the coaching staff of Alexander Stoeckl will be taken by Thomas Lobben.
