This season, the ski jumpers will take the train to get from one venue to the next during the RAW AIR Tour in Norway for the first time. The organizers want to set an example for climate protection.

"This is a step in the right direction to make the Tour more sustainable in the future and, at the same time, offer the athletes a comfortable way of traveling. We also want to show other sports, that it's possible to carry out such big events in a more sustainable way", explains Marita Hakestad Andresen of the Norwegian Ski Association.

During the RAW AIR, the athletes travel from Lillehammer to Trondheim and from the airport in Oslo to the final in Vikersund with the train instead of the bus. Due to time constraints, the plane will still be used for the first part of the trip from Trondheim to Vikersund.

"Sustainability and climate changes are in focus in Ski Jumping. Unfortunately, we notice that it's often not snowing enough anymore. We are also vulnerable to wind and weather changes. I'm proud that Norway leads the way and shows that it's possible to take the train at such a big event. It's also more comfortable for the athletes and this is important to recover after the intense days", said head coach Alexander Stoeckl, who presented the new partner "VY Tog og VY Buss" in Oslo together with Daniel Andre Tande and Marius Lindvik.
