Russian national titles to Evgeniy Klimov and Lidiia Iakovleva

The Russian national Ski Jumping championships were held last weekend in Nizhny Tagil. The titles in the individual competitions there went to Evgeniy Klimov and Lidiia Iakovleva.

Even though he was only fifth after the first round, Evgeniy Klimov won the men's competition on the normal hill with jumps of 94 m and 99.5 m and a total of 253.0 points.
The second place went to Denis Kornilov with 97 m and 94 m and 246.0 points, veteran Dmitriy Vassiliev finished third with 98.5 m and 91.5 m and 243.1 points.
Roman Trofimov was in the lead after the first round, he came in fifth overall, behind fourth-placed Mikhail Nazarov.

On the large hill, Evgeniy Klimov was then the best in both rounds with 128 m and 124.5 m and he claimed the title with 235.9 points.

Dmitriy Vassiliev was also on the podium in both competitions. He came in second with two jumps of 122.5 m. Only 17-year-old Mikhail Purtov posted jumps of 128.5 m and 115.5 m and surprised in third with 207.2 points.

The women's individual title went to Lidiia Iakovleva with 87.5 m and 98.5 m and 237.7 points. She was followed by Anna Shpyneva (88 m and 95.5 m; 234.2 points) and Sofia Tikhonova (87.5 m and 93 m; 222.5 points).

The Moscow Region, with Ksenia Kablukova, Dmitriy Vassiliev, Irina Avvakumova and Evgeniy Klimov won the mixed team event, the win in the women's team event went to St. Petersburg, with Maria Iakovleva, Anna Shpyneva, Sofia Tikhonova and Lidiia Iakovleva.

The men's team event follows on Tuesday.
