Even after two ACL tears in recent years and a meniscus surgery last winter, Severin Freund is not ready to give up. Despite the many setbacks, the 31-year-old is working on his comeback and now he had positive news to report.

"There's news: And that is that I was finally back on the hill. Even if it took a really long time, I can tell now that it was definitely worth to wait. It's really extremely great to finally be back on the hill after all this time. As you can see, it's still very basic, but there's still some time left until the winter. And now it's time to work", the former overall World Cup champion tells in a video on his Facebook-page.

After a long break due to two ACL ruptures, Severin Freund made his comeback in the World Cup in November 2018, but then he had to end the season already in February due to pain in the knee and undergo meniscus surgery. But despite these difficult times, he is not thinking about retirement. The Bavarian has set his sights on the Nordic World Championships in front of his home crowd in Oberstdorf 2021.
