Women's World Cup in Rasnov

Austria's Chiara Hoelzl won the first qualification for the women's World Cup in Rasnov (ROU) on Friday. Hoelzl jumped on 97 m on the HS 97 normal hill and came in ahead of her teammate Eva Pinkelnig (94.5 m) and Norway's Maren Lundby (92 m).

The Austrian ski jumpers followed up on where they left off last weekend in Zao (JPN). Chiara Hoelzl and Eva Pinkelnig secured the 1-2 finish for the Austrians in the first qualification in Rasnov and are once again the top favorites for the weekend.
Like already in the competitions in Japan, Olympic champion and World Cup leader Maren Lundby of Norway could not finish on top. She came in 8.4 points behind Hoelzl and 1.9 points behind Pinkelnig.

The fourth place went to Ema Klinec, the currently best Slovene, Katharina Althaus and Juliane Seyfarth of Germany finished fifth and sixth.

All three athletes from Poland could also make the cut: Anna Twardosz, Joanna Szwab and Kinga Rajda will compete on Saturday. It was a successful day for Chinese Xueyao Li, who finished 19th. The second Chinese athlete, Fangyou Zhou, narrowly failed to qualify in 41st.

Daniela Haralambie of Romania was disqualified due to too long skis. The second Romanian competitor, Andreea Diana Trambitas could not qualify for Saturday's competition in 45th.

The first competition in Rasnov starts on Saturday at 1 pm CET, the second competition follows on Sunday, also at 1 pm CET (qualification: 11:30 am CET).
