Halvor Egner Granerud of Norway won the second World Cup competition in Titisee-Neustadt on Sunday ahead of his teammate Daniel Andre Tande and Austria's Stefan Kraft. Markus Eisenbichler repeated his fourth place from yesterday.

After four Polish wins in a row, Sunday was the day of the Norwegians in Titisee-Neustadt. World Cup leader Halvor Egner Granerud claimed his sixth win this season with his jumps of 140 m and 138 m (299.4 points), just ahead of his fellow countryman Daniel Andre Tande, for whom this was the first podium after a long drought. The last time he was on the podium was in February 2020 in Lahti.

"I'm really happy, it was a good competition for me and overall it was a very good weekend. It was great fun jumping here. The preparation of the hill is amazing, all you want to do is to show a telemark as far down as possible", said Granerud, who now leads the World Cup with 948 points, followed by Markus Eisenbichler (684 points). Kamil Stoch, who was only 17th today, is third.

For Austrian Stefan Kraft, today's third place was the first podium after his Covid-19 infection and the back problems he has been struggling with recently. "The conditions were a bit difficult today. It was tailwind, we prefer headwind, then it's a lot more fun, but it was a great competition and I'm really happy about my result. It's a really old hill, it's different than the others. You have to attack here and that's my jumping style so I like this hill", explained last winter's overall World Cup champion.

Markus Eisenbichler wasn't too happy with his fourth place right after the competition. "It's a bit annoying, but basically it was quite okay. My self-confidence is back. Of course, I would have wanted to be on the podium, and it was possible, but I made a mistake in the second jump and so three others were better than me again. But I'll keep on fighting", Eisenbichler said after the competition.

Marius Lindvik completed the great day for the Norwegians in fifth, Dawid Kubacki was the best Pole in sixth, Jakub Wolny finished ninth. Ryoyu Kobayashi and Yukiya Sato took a good team result for Japan in seventh and eighth

The World Cup continues next weekend in Zakopane (POL).
