4-Hills-Tournament: Tickets for Oberstdorf available
Sep 29, 2020·Ski JumpingA drastically reduced amount of tickets will be available for the 69th 4-Hills-Tournament, which will take place from December 28th to January 6th. A limited number of 2500 tickets for the opening event in Oberstdorf will be available starting October 1st at www.arena-ticket-allgaeu.de. Ticket sales for the other three events in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck, and Bischofshofen will not start yet.
"We developed a sustainable corona-concept in cooperation with the German Ski Association, the local public health authorities, and our medical officials, that allows us, at this point, to carry out the opening event in front of 2500 spectators", says Dr. Peter Kruijer, chairman of the ski club in Oberstdorf and president of the local organizing committee. It has been determined, that there will only be seats available and the tickets must be personalized due to the strict rules and regulations in the Ski Jumping Arena in Oberstdorf. If the authorities decide that there will not be any spectators allowed in the stadium for the qualification or the competition in Oberstdorf, the ticket price will be refunded.
The organizers are also working on similar concepts for the other three 4-hills venues. "Carrying out the 4-Hills-Tournament as the winter sports highlight is the top priority, and this is a challenge", says 4-Hills president Johann Pichler from Bischofshofen. The entire circuit has to get ready for strict restrictions. "Usually we have up to the 7 000 people with accreditations at the 4-Hills-Tournament, due to the current corona pandemic this number will be reduced to a maximum of 1500 people. That's the only way we are able to apply social distancing at all venues. The restrictions will affect all areas, teams, officials, volunteers, the media and TV broadcasters", explains Pichler.
For the New Year's competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the organizers are planning with short-term ticket sales. "I'm confident, that the fans will also buy available tickets as late as in December", says Michael Maurer, chairman of the ski club in Partenkirchen. The Austrian Ski Association will not make a decision if and how many tickets will be available for the two events there before mid-October. "This isn't a problem for us, the experience shows that the spectators in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen plan on short notice.", tells Alfons Schranz, head of the organizing committee in Innsbruck.
