Back to back win for Marita Kramer in Titisee-Neustadt

Austrian Marita Kramer won two days in a row the World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany. Following just behind with 2.2 difference, Japanese Sara Takanashi scored today 263.5 points. Hill record holder Silje Opseth from Norway finished third.

Confirming she prefers large hill, Marita Kramer posted the longest jump today in the first round with 137.5 m. « Win twice here is just mega cool, I am really happy. My jumps were on a very good level, I will just keep working like this and I am already looking forward to the next World Cup" said the Austrian, keeping now clearly the yellow bib away from the others.

With two good jumps, Japanese Sara Takanashi was back on the podium after Ramsau. Hoping that this will be the beginning of a good season, she explained she still have to concentrate her work on the technics to improve.

Winning the qualification earlier and holding the hill record, Norwegian Silje Opseth finished third. Her main goal was to achieve two good landings but unfortunately she didn’t manage, being neverthless happy about this second podium this weekend.

37-year old Austrian Daniela Iraschko-Stolz improved her jumps from previous day and claimed the fourth position, whereas teammate Sophie Sorschag finished seventh.

Slovenia was the fourth and last nation to share the top 10 of today’s competition with Ema Klinec fifth, just 0.2 points ahead of Nika Kriznar (251.2 and 251 points). Teammate Jerneja Brecl finished tenth.

Being fourth on the first round, Norwegian Maren Lundby didn’t manage to keep the position and finished eventually eighth. On the opposite, Japanase Yuki Ito improved from 14th to 7th in the second round to claime eventually the ninth position.

It was a difficult day for German on this homeland hill with only three women participating to the final round. Katharina Althaus finished 12th, Juliane Seyfarth 28th and Agnes Reich 29th.

Now famous Norwegian Eirin Maria Kvandal crashed when landing on the second jump (the best distance with 136.5 metres) and finished 14th, remaining luckily not hurt.

After this fourth individual competition, Marita Kramer keeps leading the world cup ranking with 360 points out of 400 possible. Sara Takanashi gets back in second position with 226 points, 35 points ahead of Nika Kriznar.

The Women's World Cup continues next weekend in Hinzenbach, Austria, with 3 events from Friday on.
