Passing of Boerje Staffas

FIS was deeply sad to learn of the passing of Swedish Technical Delegate Boerje Staffas on Monday at the age of 75. Staffas was deeply attached to Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined for many years and worked as a technical delegate, judge, chairman, and chief of distance measurers, in addition, he was also a member of the Organising Committee for the Nordic Ski World Championships in Falun 1993 and 2015.
"Boerje will be remembered as a great official and an equally great person and friend, he will be missed", said Dr. Ivo Gregor, representing his fellow judges and technical delegates, for whom Staffas was a very popular colleague for more than 20 years.
Staffas, who was living near Falun together with his wife, died early this week surrounded by his family, he is survived by his wife and two sons.
FIS would like to offer its deepest condolences to the family, friends and loves ones of Börje Staffas as to the Swedish Ski Association.
