Due to the bad weather forecast for Sunday, the third competition of the Continental Cup in Ruka (FIN) was rescheduled and held only a few hours after the second competition of the weekend on Saturday evening. And just like in the first two events on the Rukatunturi-hill, the win went to a ski jumper from Austria, this time the Austrians took all three spots on the podium.

The weekend in Ruka ended just the way it started on Friday: With a victory of Stefan Rainer. The 21-year-old was second after the first round with his 134 m jump, he was then able to secure his second career win in the COC with 136 m in the final round and 289.0 points. "It was a nice competition, the conditions were great. It was not as windy as yesterday and I'm very happy about my jumps", said the two-time winner.

With 131 m in the first round and the longest jump of the competition of 139 m in the final, Jan Hoerl, the best in the first competition on Saturday, repeated his second place from Friday. The third place went to Clemens Leitner, who was in the lead after the first round, with 136.5 m and 134 m and a total of 286.0 points.
The outstanding team result for Austria was completed by Daniel Tschofenig and Niklas Bachlinger in seventh and eleventh. Both made their debuts in the Continental Cup in Ruka this weekend.

Sondre Ringen of Norway finished fourth, followed by Polish veteran Maciej Kot (5th), who was third at half-time, and Lovro Kos of Slovenia (6th). Richard Freitag was eighth and came in among the best ten in all three competitions in Ruka, Jakub Wolny of Poland came in ninth, Norway's Bendik Jakobsen Heggli was tenth.

After the first weekend of the season, Jan Hoerl leads the overall ranking of the COC with 260 points, followed by Stefan Rainer (236 points) and Clemens Leitner (127 points).

The Continental Cup continues right after Christmas on December 27th and 28th in Engelberg (SUI).
