COC-M: Jan Hoerl wins in Ruka

In the second competition of the Continental Cup in Ruka (FIN) on Saturday afternoon, Jan Hoerl was able to confirm his strong performance from the first competition of the weekend and claimed his first-ever win in the COC.

The 22-year-old, who was second yesterday only behind his teammate Stefan Rainer, laid the foundation for this success in the first round with the longest jump of the competitions of 137 m. In the final round, the Austrian again had the longest jump with 132 m and won with 288.2 points.

The second place went to Jakub Wolny of Poland with 128.5 m and 130 m and a total of 272.0 points. Together with Wolny, Maciej Kot in fourth and Pawel Wasek in sixth provided for a very strong team result of the Poles.

Local hero Eetu Nousiainen had already presented himself in very good shape on Friday with the fourth place and today he was able to improve this result. With 128.5 m and 130.5 m and 271.4 points, the 23-year-old from Kuopio was third and achieved the first podium of his career in the Continental Cup.

The best of the Norwegians was Anders Haare in fifth, the winner of the first competition, Stefan Rainer, finished seventh this time. Richard Freitag was eighth and once again the best representative of the German Ski Association.
Robin Pedersen of Norway (9th) and Slovenia's Lovro Kos (10th) also made the Top 10.

Jan Hoerl now also leads the overall ranking of the COC with 180 points, ahead of his teammate Stefan Rainer (138 points) and Eetu Nousiainen (110 points).
