COC-M: Markus Schiffner dominates in Klingenthal

Markus Schiffner was the best ski jumper of the Continental Cup in Klingenthal. The Austrian could claim the win in both competitions in the Vogtland-Arena this weekend.

After his win on Saturday, the 28-year-old Austrian was the best athlete in both rounds on Sunday and took his fifth win in the COC with jumps of 141.5 m and 137.5 m and a total of 292.1 points.

Slovenia's Cene Prevc could also prove his currently very strong shape again. With 139 m and 137.5 m and 277.6 points repeated his second place from yesterday and was now on the podium in four of the last six competitions.

Manuel Fettner could confirm his very good performance in yesterday's competition, the Austrian veteran finished third for the second time this weekend with 135 m and 136 m and 276.5 points. The great team result of Austria was completed by Maximilian Steiner in fourth, with Peter Resinger in ninth a fourth Austrian jumper was in the Top 10 today.

The two best Norwegians in today's competition were Matias Braaten and Robin Pedersen in fifth and sixth, closely followed by the two Japanese Junshiro Kobayashi and Yuken Iwasa. The tenth place went to Sander Vossan Eriksen of Norway.

With his success today, Markus Schiffner now took the lead in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup. With 539 points, he is now ahead of Ulrich Wohlgenannt (461 points) and Stefan Rainer (383 points).
The next two COC competitions will be held in Brotterode (GER) next weekend.
