COC-W: Hannah Wiegele on top again

Hannah Wiegele is the "Athlete of the Weekend" at the women's Continental Cup in Brotterode. The Austrian could confirm her very good performance from Saturday on Sunday and took another clear win this afternoon.

With her jumps of 110.5 m and 106 m and 252.3 points, the 19-year-old was once again unbeatable on the Inselberg-hill and claimed her second win in a row. It was a great weekend for Wiegele, whose best result in the COC before the days of Brotterode was the 15th place in Rena about a year ago.

Ksenia Kablukova of Russia was fifth after the first round with 105 m, she could move up to second overall with 106 m in the final and 235.9 points. Jerneja Repinc Zupancic of Slovenia took the third place on the podium today with 108.5 m and 104 m and 230.7 points.

After her third place on Saturday, Julia Muehlbacher of Austria narrowly missed the podium today by only 0.7 points and came in fourth, behind the 16-year-old Austrian, the only 15-year-old Slovene Nika Prevc was also able to prove her talent again in fifth.

Aleksandra Barantceva of Russia (6th9, Astrid Norstedt of Sweden (7th), and Slovenia's Nika Vetrih (8th) came in just ahead of the best athlete of the hosting German team, Michelle Goebel, who was ninth. With Maja Vtic in tenth, another ski jumper from Slovenia finished among the best 10 in the second and final women's COC competition of the season.

With her two wins, Hannah Wiegele claimed the overall win of the COC 2020/21 with a maximum of 200 points. The second place goes to Ksenia Kablukova (120 points), followed by Julia Muehlbacher (110 points) and Jerneja Repinc Zupancic (110 points) in third.
