Mar 01, 2021·Ski Jumping
Ema Klinec

Japan's Sara Takanashi and World Champion Ema Klinec (SLO) were the best athletes on the first women's training day on the large hill in Oberstdorf. Both had already won medals on the normal hill last week and showed convincing performances also in the three training rounds on the HS 137 large hill.
Klinec posted the longest jump of the day with 133 m in the second training round, Takanashi had the longest jump of the third round with 130.5 m.

In good conditions, Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Nika Kriznar performed strong as well. Top favorite Marita Kramer and normal hill silver medalist Maren Lundby skipped the first day of training but will participate in tomorrow's qualification.
Besides the favorites, Russia's Irina Avvakumova and Norway's Thea Minyan Bjoerseth also showed good performances. Anna Rupprecht and Katharina Althaus, who surprisingly won gold in the mixed team event on Sunday, had solid jumps today. Althaus will probably be the best of the German team on the large hill.

The women will have another training round on Tuesday (4:30 pm CET), followed by the qualification at 6 pm CET. The competition will start at 5:15 pm CET on Wednesday.
