Even though it was already confirmed earlier this week, everything has changed now. Heinz Kuttin will not become the new head coach of the French ski jumpers.

"We had an oral agreement with him since April 12th. Everything was okay, we have sent him the contract and were now waiting for him to sign and return it. On Wednesday evening he then called me and said that he will not come to France", Jerome Laheurte, athletic director for Ski Jumping of the French Ski Association, explained to the sports newspaper L'Equipe.

The reason for this decision of Heinz Kuttin was an offer of another federation. "He explained to me that he's sorry but that he can't refuse this offer. It was a shock, we are all disappointed on a personal level and we also feel a bit betrayed", Laheurte added.

Update: As the German Ski Association (DSV) announced on Tuesday, Heinz Kuttin will be the new Ski Jumping coach of the German Nordic Combined national team, and, in this position, the successor of former world-class Nordic Combined skier Ronny Ackermann. "I'm really looking forward to this new task. Nordic Combined has guaranteed success for the German Ski Association for many years now and I want to play my part in continuing this success story in the future", said Kuttin.
