The weather prevented the first day of Ski Jumping at the Lahti Ski Games 2021 on Friday afternoon.

Due to the strong wind, the start of the official training was postponed various times, before the final decision to cancel the official training and the qualification was then made at about 4:40 pm CET.

"Due to the wind conditions, we had no chance to have the training and the qualification today. Over the knoll we had wind speeds of up to 7.5 m/second, this is too much. The weather forecast is better for tomorrow and Sunday, that's why the decision to not jump today was clear", explained FIS Race Director Sandro Pertile.

There will now be an official training round on Saturday at 2:30 pm CET, before the team competition starts as scheduled at 4:15 pm CET.
