On the second World Cup in Hinzenbach (AUT), Sara Takanashi from Japan won a thrilling competition and her 58th World Cup, just 0.4 points ahead of previous day's winner Slovenian Nika Kriznar. Silje Opseth from Norway finished third.

Winning the qualification and leading the first round on Friday before being disqualified because of a non-compliant suit, 24-year old Japanese legend confirmed she really liked this HS90m in Hinzenbach. Winning the qualification again on Saturday, she then scored 238.4 points with two jumps of 90 m, enjoying a lot this victory after all the work she did on her technique.

Second-placed Nika Kriznar was also satisfied with her jumps and happy about this very close fight at the top till the very last second. Current leader being disqualified because of a non-compliant suit on Saturday, Nika Krishnar got each day closer to the World Cup top ranking, being now just 39 points behind Marita Kramer.

With all the team Norway now having her own skis back, Silje Opseth finished on third position. Not able to compete on Friday, Maren Lundby did a trial jump before qualification. In the second round, she posted the longest jump of the day with 91 m but it was not enough to fight for the podium. She eventually got the fifth position.

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz was the best Austrian in fourth position and Katharina Althaus the best German in eighth.

Takanashi’s teammate Nozomi Maruyama finished in the sixth position, just 0.3 points ahead of Russian Irina Avvakumova. After previous day's best performance, Avvakumova confirmed she is now back in good shape.

Slovenia completed the top 10 with very good jumps from Ursa Bogataj (ninth) whereas Ema Klinec finished 10th.

After this second competition in Hinzenbach, the third and last World Cup is already announced thrilling on Sunday at 12.15 CET (qualification 11.00 am)
