Silje Opseth wins the qualification in Ljubno

After a few weeks' break from competitions, the women's World Cup started again with the highest number of athletes ever seen, registering 80 womens from 17 nations in the start list.

In the rain, Norwegian Silje Opseth won the qualification for the women's World Cup in Ljubno (SLO) on Friday with 127.4 points and a jump of 89.5 m. Slovenian secured the 2-3 finish in this qualification with Nika Kriznar who posted the longest jump with 93,5 m, scoring 126 points and Ursa Bogataj following just 0.1 points behind.

Maren Lundby posted the second longest jump with 93 m and finished fourth, just ahead of another Slovenian, Ema Klinec. The sixth place went to Japanese Sara Takanashi whereas Spela Rogelj completed the numbers of Slovenian athletes in top 7 today.

Defending her yellow bib, Marita Kramer was the first Austrian, finishing eighth, followed by teammates Lisa Eder and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz. Daniela has been holding the hill record since 2017 with 96.5 m on this HS94.

Slovenian are the favorites for this weekend at home.

The individual competition with 40 women qualified follows on Sunday at 2.00 pm CET.  The team competition in Ljubno starts on Saturday at 2.00 pm CET.
